Jaws Comes Home

Since Hollywood blockbuster ‘Jaws’ was made in the 1970’s, the Great White all but disappeared from the Atlantic. Now it’s back!  With Great White sightings on the rise, the chances of a shark attack are increasing.  JAWS COMES HOME follows US Fisheries scientist Greg Skomal as he leads a pioneering study, tracking the lives of sharks Ruthless, Curly and Storm to find out all he can about this rare and elusive shark.  From the first underwater images of an Atlantic Great White in more than 30 years to an incredible migration from Cape Cod to the Mexican Gulf, JAWS COMES HOME claims many ground-breaking revelations about the secretive lives of the Atlantic Great White.

Cast and Crew Anecdotes

‘Working with sharks elicits a clash of emotions ranging from excitement and anticipation to anxiety and fear. Where else can you get that?  I love it!’ Greg Skomal, Shark Scientist

The day my dad and I tagged Ruthless was probably the most dangerous thing we’ve ever done.’ Nick Chaprales, Joint Skipper of the Ezduzit

‘Its an eerie feeling looking into the eye of a great white shark. Its jet black and you look into it, and you know she’s checking you out. There’s not a lot you can do to defend yourself.’ Jay Starr, Skipper

‘While Curly pounded down on the roof of the shark cage, violently rocking the 400 lbs frame like a child's toy, scenes of the smashed cage in the movie, "Jaws", flitted across my mind.’ Nick Caloyianis, Director of Photography
