Meet Caritas and Dis 👋
Two nature-loving adventurers growing up on Heimaey, the only inhabited island in Iceland’s Vestmannaeyjar archipelago. They love exploring the outdoors, and sharing their island home with thousands of puffins every summer.

What is Puffin Patrol?!

When night falls, our mini wildlife heroes grab their torches and set off on a very special mission. 🌕
Pufflings that have mistaken the island lights for the moon end up stranded on land... that’s where the Puffin Patrol swoops in. 🔦
The pufflings get a cosy overnight stay in a box before their big release the next day.

We’re the Puffin Patrol!

Every summer, on Heimaey, the only inhabited island in Iceland’s Vestmannaeyjar archipelago, children step into an extraordinary role: wildlife rescuers. 🙌
Known locally as the ‘Puffin Patrol’, this tradition sees kids combing the town at night to find baby puffins, or pufflings, that have been lured inland by streetlights instead of flying out to sea. 🇮🇸
