Big Wave is committed to protecting your privacy and keeping your personal data safe and secure by handling it in accordance with our legal obligations and company policies. This page explains our privacy policy and how your personal information may be used.

What is your personal information?

This means any information which is personally identifiable to you – this includes your name, your address, contact details (telephone numbers and email addresses), gender, financial information (in the event we are processing any payments to you) and/or date of birth. We refer to this as “personal information”

WHY and HOW ARE WE COLLECTING THIS INFORMATION

Big Wave collects Personal Information in various forms for the purpose of business activities (the production and distribution of television productions). In the event we make contact with you in relation to taking part in one of our programmes we will hold some of your “personal information” as part of this process. This is in order to assess your suitability for contribution to our programmes and in order to be able to keep in touch with you.

WHO HAS ACCESS TO THIS INFORMATION

Your Personal Information will only be handled by contracted members of staff (full time or contract staff) of Big Wave and it will only be shared when absolutely necessary with any third party directly involved in the workings of Big Wave (such as financial institutions). As part of delivering productions to broadcasters some of the Personal Information (Name, Age, Gender, Disability Information) will be shared with them for the purposes of monitoring if you would prefer we do not disclose this information please make contact with your representative at Big Wave who will note this. We will never sell your information to third parties. We will share your information with official bodies in the event this is required by law in the investigation of any crime.

HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION and FOR HOW LONG

We will always endeavour to handle your Personal Information in the correct and secure manner. Our computer systems are secured by a firewall appropriate for the protection required for such sensitive information, in addition we use appropriate technical measures as required (encryption and password protection) on documents and sensitive information and all paper records are locked away in filing cabinets or cupboards as appropriate. Personal Information will only be handled on a “need-to-know” basis.

Big Wave is committed to keeping your personal information secure. We aim to only keep personal information for as long as it is required both practically for a production and legally in terms of accounting information, as a company we review how this information is stored and adapt our policies to confirm that the information isn’t held any longer than required. Any personal information – both physical and digital – will be securely destroyed when it is no longer required.
