We can’t think of anything much better than a local shoot with positive people excited to make change. Well two weeks ago, that’s exactly what Big Wave got to do. For our new film for the BBC, we got stuck back into chatting about one of our favourite things - kelp!

Meeting with local fisherman, Clive, we filmed kelp diver Eric and Clive discuss the successes of the 2021 trawling ban along the Sussex coastline, and the positive impact it’s had on local fishermen.

It’s hard not being able to share more, but for now enjoy these pictures from the shoot and some giggles from behind the scenes. And watch this (kelp shaped) space for more … 🦑

In a remote part of Sweden, just 125 miles south of the Arctic Circle, lies a very small town. Surrounded by wild forests, it’s covered in snow for almost 7 months of the year. But peer through those icy branches, and you might catch a glimpse of the town’s most charismatic residents – the local red squirrels.

We were lucky enough to meet these furry faces – specifically Fika, Digit, Baby Pear, Nutkin and Maxi - while filming with @daniconnorwild for our new series for @lovenature

DP @jon_moy and Researcher @keralafisherhart travelled to Northern Sweden this March to film what these little guys were getting up to. Say what you will about squirrels over here in the UK, but there’s no denying that for these faces, butter wouldn’t melt (well, out of the snow of course).

Massive thank you to Dani for letting us into their world, and to Sweden for being as beautiful as anyone could have hoped for. We can’t wait to say more soon – but in the meantime, enjoy some BTS of these cuties.

It’s a beautiful morning in the UK today, and we’re feeling very appreciative of the nature around us and the life that’s beginning to emerge 🌞

Enjoy this glimpse of a secret bluebell glade located just outside of Chichester, captured by CEO Sarah at the weekend. There’s wild garlic in there too. Oh, and make sure your sound is on for the beautiful birdsong 🎶

Did you know wild garlic and bluebells are often indicators of ancient woodland? This suggests some of those trees could be over 400 years old! 🤍

Are you a budding forager? Or are you an experienced hunter gatherer? We’re on the look out for some recipes for how to use our wild garlic - so if you have any, feel free to drop them below!
