My Best Friend’s an Animal is an emotive, heart-warming series which tells the stories of humans who have unlikely, extraordinary friendships with wild animals. Featuring six compelling stories per episode and filmed all over the world.

The series proves that when it comes to friendship, shape, size, or even species is irrelevant. Respect, trust, and understanding can be found in the most surprising places. In this series we have found heart-warming, exceptional stories of love, companionship and togetherness.
From a unique friendship spanning 30 years between Peter and Nzou the Elephant in Zimbabwe to a Crocodile in Costa Rica called Viserion and his human friend Andres; this series tells the stories of how humans and animals can save each other’s lives, challenge stereotypes and enjoy a privileged perspective of each other’s way of living.

In Botswana German born Val has spent the last 13 years dedicating his life to a Lioness called Sirga. He rescued the cub as a newborn and nursed her back to health, from the brink of death. Today the pair live on a 2000 hectare reserve where they spend their days walking barefoot together and sharing Sirga’s energetic cuddles.
In California, USA surf enthusiast Dana believes that if you enjoy doing something, you share it with your friends. It turns out that his goat Chupacabra is pretty accomplished on a surf board too. In Tanzania, East Africa, Pendo’s friend Kobe is a ‘hero rat’ named for his ability to sniff out land mines and save lives.

In the Bahamas marine eco focussed Keith has developed a relationship with a Stingray called Hugger who really does live up to her name as she swims up his body for a wet embrace every time they are together.
In Australia we meet Garri the Koala who is being lovingly raised by Trish who hopes that one bittersweet day she will bid farewell to her adorable buddy as he heads for a life in the wild.
